“offer your yearning and devotion to god through the god in him.”
- David Deida, Dear Lover

Week six: opening to god

No matter who or what you call it, we will explore our ideas of “GOD” this week, and find absolute curiosity in the expansive spectrum of faiths and beliefs
drawing on the common theme of love which is the common thread that sews us all together. Can you open to this in an ultimate and universal way in every exchange, circumstance, experience, and relationship?

Introduce us to your “GOD.”

questions for contemplation + discussion

Do you consider that there is a “God part” (divine part) in each of us? Do you live with this belief, that every single person has a divine part within them? If so, how does this shape the way you practice opening as love each day? If not, why?

Please do a mid-way check in this week: are you staying focused and present with the work? Are you giving it your best effort and full presence? Is the work inspiring you or triggering you? Are you able to find grace for yourself or expansion for yourself with any of this wisdom?

Think of one person you cannot stand; practice opening as love with this person (in person would be exceptional practice, in meditation is also powerful). Can you describe what happens?

Come into your personal devotional practice this week, light candles for the sake of lighting candles, sit for the sake of sitting, love for the sake of loving…can you, will you do this as a state of staying open and a way of being without the outside influence? Perhaps as an expression of the divine part of you…

Who is God, The Divine?
